How to create facebook thumbnail images in wordpress posts

It really sucks when you create a great WordPress blog post, like this one that you are reading right now, only to discover that when the “like” or “share” button is clicked or when the url is posted in Facebook the thumbnail image is incorrect. So here’s how you force it to display the image you want, it doesn’t even need to be displayed in your wordpress blog post. This is also key if you’re just posting a video.

That’s it! I start every blog post with that code linked to the image url I created and uploaded. And the cool thing is that image will not be displayed in your post so you can make it unique for Facebook and the content of your post.

Sometimes you may want to change your thumbnail or you created a post and forgot to add the code and now the wrong image is displayed. Here’s where you can check and debug your url thumbnail. Facebook Debugger

Facebook’s cache should clear every 24hrs and then your correct thumbnail will be displayed, but with the debugger you don’t have to wait!
